It's school time again, and Kyon is heading for class. Little does he know what is expecting him today. It is another day with Haruhi Suzumiya, chock-full with highway robbery, Mikuru's boobs, crazy missions, and random philosophy babble.

Today's mission: to acquire a "mysterious transfer student" for the SOS Brigade. Why? No clue. Haruhi is bored. So they need something mysterious.
The clubroom has been gathering a lot of random objects lately. However, it needs to be pepped up with more effective assets. A computer is needed!

Off to the computer club it is. Haruhi has no qualms asking for a computer in a straightforward manner. When her request is denied by the club's president, Haruhi quickly takes decisive action.

Haruhi applies one of the SOS Brigade's strongest weapons: her phantasy and Mikuru's boobs...

Mikuru, who is as surprised as the computer club's president, screams when Haruhi makes the computer guy's hand grab her boob. Haruhi quickly takes some pictures, pushing both Mikuru and the computer guy into even more embarrasing positions.

Haruhi proceeds to blackmail the computer club. Either they give them their newest computer, or she will publish the photos and have the computer club's president be charged with sexual harrassing Mikuru. After the initial outcry, fear quickly gets the better part of the computer club's president and its members, and Haruhi gets her computer. Apparently, Haruhi is the only one with guts around, and the computer club members are all wimps. Once more, all Kyon does is scratch his head in confusion and disgust.

Back at the SOS Brigade's club room, Haruhi appoints Kyon chief webmaster, which means she wants him to develop a website for the club.

When Haruhi leaves, Yuki steps up to Kyon and gives him a book, Hyperion by Dan Simmons. She urges Kyon to read it.

The next day the club members gather again in the club room. Yuki is there, Mikuru is there, and so is Kyon. Neither Mikuru nor Kyon really know why the have come. Mikuru is worried that Haruhi makes her do embarrasing stuff again like yesterday, and so Kyon declares that he will not allow Haruhi to do any such thing to her again. Moments later, Haruhi bursts into the clubroom to put her next play into action. Without further words, she forcefully starts undressing Mikuru. Kyon, surprised and basically impotent to act, flees the room and leaves Mikuru to her Haruhi-determined fate.

When Haruhi and Mikuru emerge from the clubroom, both are wearing bunny girls costumes. Haruhi's goal is to distribute flyers to draw attention to the club. To get people to look at the flyers, they dressed up as bunny girls. Off to their latest mission they are! Looking into the clubroom after Haruhi and Mikuru have left, Kyon is overcome by embarrassement again, but also admits to himself that he likes seeing Mikuru and Haruhi dressed as they were.

Haruhi positions herself and Mikuru at the school's entrance gate and decrees the club's mission to the world. To find and solve the world's mysteries. For this, Haruhi wants everyone who has experienced something mysterious to come to the club, and the club will help them solve the mystery. Unfortunately, Haruhi and Mikuru are stopped quickly by some school officials. Haruhi is pissed, Mikuru is even more embarrassed than before and disappointed by Kyon, who promised to protect her but didn't. Kyon is scratching his head, and Yuki shows no emotion.

Despite all their marketing efforts, nobody shows up and asks the club to solve their mysteries for them. A disappointed Haruhi decides to go home, leaving Kyon and Yuki alone in the club room.

Yuki asks Kyon whether he read the book she gave him. Kyon says he didn't, and Yuki asks him again to do it. Late at night Kyon gets to do so, and out of the book falls a little note by Yuki, asking him to meet up in the park.

Kyon races to the park and finds Yuki. Turns out, she had been waiting for him the previous night as well. Yuki takes Kyon to her apartment, promising to tell him something important.

After celebrating a proper tea ritual, Yuki proceeds to tell Kyon that neither Haruhi nor her are regular humans. Kyon concurs---it seems obvious to him. However, Yuki then tells him that she really is not just not ordinary, but she is a true alien. Specifically, she is an interface provided to humans by the entity that administers galaxy they are in, and her mission is to allow for contact with that entity. So basically, Yuki, who walks like a computer, and talks like a computer, is an interface. In another non sequitur, Kyon does not scratch his head, but he looks like he would do so any second now. Unfortunately, this is when this episode ends, and we don't learn yet what Haruhi is, exactly.
